Autumn equinox
Today, 23 September
is the autumn equinox!
In Greece and
generally in the northern hemisphere the autumn
officially begins today, while in the southern hemisphere respectively spring begins. In equinox around the
world, nighttime and
daytime are of almost equal length. Then,
in the northern hemisphere, the days become shorter
and the night becomes longer
until nighttime reaches its peak during the
winter solstice in December.
In Santorini, the summer certainly
is still here and all the days of September remind
us mostly of summer, rather than winter!
