High Lonesome Sound

The events of the Byzantine week continue in Kastelli 1663 art gallery and café at Pyrgos village. Today the event begins with Noah Angell who will give a performance lecture on his collection of ethnographic records. This piece will be followed by a performance from Kostas Karapanos and Vasilis Triantis playing an instrumental Epirotic repertoire including Miroloi (laments), Skaros (shepherd’s melodies mimicking natural sounds), and dance tunes well into the night.
