Museum of Prehistoric Thera

It is considered one of the most important museums in Greece, as it houses a large part of the amazing findings from the excavations at Akrotiri archaeological site.
Everyday objects, jewellery and ceramics were discovered buried in the city but the most famous exhibits are, of course, the frescoes, which, thanks to the ash, preserved their colours almost intact, thus giving us valuable information about life 3,500 years ago.
Many findings from Akrotiri are also housed at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
The Museum is open 08.00 - 15.00.
