The volcanic islands Christiana

Have you noticed the two islets seen from the south west part of Santorini?
The islands are called Christiana and are part of the volcanic complex of Santorini. They are located on the edge of the tectonic line that passes through Palaia and Nea Kameni up to Kolumbos submarine volcano, located between Santorini and Amorgos island, on the northeast.
Today Christiana are not inhabited, but there are remains of water collection facilities which show that humans lived there since Bronze Age. There are also signs of medieval settlements which clearly show that for many centuries the islands were overcrowded. Ιn modern times, even a marriage took place in these islands! You can only get there by private boat.
