Mid-Summer Day

In the afternoon - specifically at 19:39 – summer solstice takes place that officially launches the start of the summer in the northern hemisphere! In fact today will be the longest day of the year!
The Sun will be located at the highest point in the sky and daylight will last 14.5 hours! In fact the North Pole of the Earth will be literally facing the Sun. Starting from Monday, the days will slowly begin to shorten, until almost they are equated with the nights during the autumn equinox, on 23 September.

Mid-summer day is celebrated in many Northern European countries, like Sweden, with maypoles and bonfires at the parks but in Greece, a country with plenty of sun, this day is just another full of light.
