Celebrations and fairs

This year, the celebration of the Ascension coincides with the great Christian celebration of St. Constantine and Helen. So, here is your opportunity to watch the Orthodox morning service (if you wake up early, at around 08:00), and immediately after, to experience a local fair at one of the beautifully decorated churches. Do not forget to wish “happy name day” to all the Greeks who have the common name Constantine, Kostas, Dinos and Helen!
Tomorrow's fairs:
In Karterados: the whole village of Karterados, which is very close to Fira, celebrates today, owing to the Church of the Ascension.
In Kontochori: at the Folklore Museum, you can find the small church of St. Constantine and Helen, which also celebrates.

At the junction Megalochori - Akrotiri: the small church of the Ascension is in the vine fields, near the junction and after the morning service, the fair with free food and wine will follow.
In Thirasia Island: Saint Constantine is the patron saint of Manolas village and it is a very important fair for the island on the “other side”.
