Goat, a worship and survival animal

Since ancient times, goat farming was very popular, connected with banquets, delicious cheese, sacrifices to the gods and bag pipe manufacture (as containers or musical instruments).
Zeus in Greek mythology was reared by a goat, Amalthea. The goats were sacred animals and the proof is god Pan, an anthropomorphic goat, as well as satyrs and Silenus, who accompanied the feasts of Bacchus.
Even the word Aegean Sea etymologically derived from the goat (aega = goat in Greek)! Did you discover the ancient wild goat at the Museum of Prehistoric Thera? It’s a golden statuette, found intact inside a wooden box in Akrotiri, in 1999!
