Serenade from Melampes Village

Melampes is one of the villages in Crete that many old traditions, like the well-known Melampiani Serenade, remain alive.
While the Melampiani Serenade is sung, a group of 10 to 50 devotees playing the lyre and the lute walk through the streets of the village playing various Cretan songs.
The visits to the houses were a great honour to the landlord, who offered bread and olives to the singers.
The event is organised by the Cretan Association of Santorini "To aAkadi".

In Megalochori, at 21:00.
