The weather
in Santorini is peculiar during April and May. The lucky visitors can
experience the local natural phenomenon “anedosa”, which is generated by the
temperature difference between the volcano and the island, especially with west
winds. It looks like fog or smoke and rises abruptly from the caldera spreading
onto the rest of the island and then dissolves.
Because of the lack of rain, “anedosa” is thus considered beneficial for the island, as it provides the necessary moisture to the vines.
